Not Another Typical Food Blog

Do you love the way really great food looks? They say we eat with our eyes first, and at least for me it’s true. I’m a visual artist that likes to cook. For most artists, our careers are not a path to wealth and fame. So, as both a foodie and an artist, I decided to learn how to cook the food I like for myself. Along the way, I started to see the food itself as an art form. Many of the definitions of art that exist talk about inciting an emotional reaction or communicating a message. I think food can do that, perhaps better than some traditional art forms.

So, aside from rambling comparisons between food and art, what is this blog going to be about? Well, like most of my art projects, I like to pick a starting point and let the projects develop in whatever way makes the most sense. I’m thinking a food blog with a bit of personal philosophy and lifestyle thoughts thrown in would be a bit of fun. I like luxury experiences and having nice things. The financial realities of being an artist means I need to balance that love of luxury with a frugal nature. Stay tuned, this should be fun.
