Audio Story Analysis

In the podcast ATWWD they have the two sections of the podcast but they merge them together into one. They start by making small chit-chat and then Schulz usually goes first with their paranormal stories and these range from stories about haunted houses, insane asylums, and the devils circle. The podcast is called “And that’s why we drink” because when they are telling their stories Schulz is normally drinking a milkshake or a Starbucks Frappuccino and Schiefer is drinking wine.

“The last podcast on the left” is my least favorite of the three podcasts, in this podcast they talk about identical stories and even go over the same stories but The last podcast on the left uses crude and dark humor while talking about their stories. I usually like dark humor but I don’t find this podcast funny at all. Sometimes when a story had multiple parts or if it is more complicated than a shortened version The last podcast on the left will go into several episodes to tell this one story, the other podcasts don’t do this.

While The last podcast on the left is my least favorite I do believe they do a good job at telling the stories of the crimes they pick to tell. Along with doing a good job of telling the stories, I believe that the podcast “Small Town Murder” does a good job of that.

This podcast is way different than the other two podcasts in the way Small Town murder only focuses on the small towns, the other podcasts do big city, small city, and other country stories. This is what makes Small Town Murder different from the rest while doing the same theme as the others. A story that most might not have heard of that Small Town Murder covered is Newport, Oregon where a person goes missing for years and three people had the answer but wouldn’t give it up.

The other podcasts had not covered this story. While true crime podcasts are my favorite to listen to I can see where some people like different aspects to different podcasts. All of these can be found on Spotify and are still producing new episodes every week.
