Designers For Business

Today many organisations looking for a great employees in design leadership and they expect good results which is make sense. And when they get hired they informed that the company need more attention on designing on product.

What really happening today in the process of hiring designers, they were asked you have experience in human centric design? Do you do prototyping,Story boarding? and oh yea you must have experience in ui design as well, right?etc… I think this is necessary to have this information.

But get out something why are you hiring a designer, ask them scenarios about how they think about the user, how they think about process of user journey, And most important how they think about product in terms of business as well. Many times of course its not only about providing services and features than market competitors, how and what we are getting as a company is also key thing and do they have any experience in such situation and balancing the business and users.

Today many companies having great success with their services and how they are having more concern about their users. Designers helped to achieve more business in such great companies like Google,Apple, Airbnb, Microsoft,etc.. Where they think more about user problems and how to track down that to minimalist way that user will have to think.

Designers take this process such a way that how any decision will make effect or impact on the business and how users will react it. Its not like every time you will win, but its you will know the impact of the decisions you will make which are not working and that’s how you help to grow business.

There are many ways of to know about when you think how your decision will make impact on the business. There are sales team, Digital Marketing Managers, Google Adwords, Google Trend, your competitors and how they are going with the products. This is such a way to figure out what your company needs and how you(designer) can help to meet it.

You can start by learning business principles, how business model works, the process.This is things that will take you more closer to the balancing scenario for both your users and business. Learning issues going and core values of the company, yearly reports, you will get more aware about business needs.

It is also important to have good design that is how user like to use. Just knowing their problems and working towards it with in mind of business needs will be the key feature that designer should bring to the table.
