Taking Flight

Last session of Amal fellowship was purely magical. First, we played a game like scavenger hunt. We divided ourselves into two teams. We had to solve riddles and take selfies with the things those riddles represented. Our team couldn’t win but this was an extremely fun activity.

After this game, all of us just talked casually. Fellows shared their sentiments about this 3-month long journey and how did it benefit them. Our facilitators gave goodbye speeches, which made all of us emotional. People shared the difference between their personalities at the start and at this instant. It was pleasing to see people grow and learn from each other in this short yet beautiful time. A lot of us also expressed immense feelings of gratitude towards our facilitators as none of the learning would have been possible without their constant support and feedback. This session showed me that sometimes it is very good to just sit and talk with people. Share your feelings, voice your thoughts, and listen to others’ stories. People are unique so every conversation and every story can be a learning opportunity. The concluding meeting with my Amal fellows demonstrated that to me. I would do my best to keep in touch with my batch fellows as it was a remarkable ride together. I can do that by asking for some advice/help from some specific fellows and return that favor to some fellows. I will try to connect with most of my fellows on social media and try to interact with them. One way can be to congratulate them when they share an achievement and wish them best of luck for their future. We can also hold physical meetups to maintain our connection.

The journey of people who were bonded together by their love for self-improvement should never end.

This fellowship has taught me numerous skills such as leadership, teamwork, and conflict resolution. All of these skills would be utilized for my career advancement. These traits would help me excel as a professional. But don’t think for an instant that Amal has only taught me professional skills. No. This fellowship has also made me kinder, more open-minded and more empathetic towards others’ struggles. It has made me understand that not everyone has an easy life, so the least we could do is to be kind towards them. To conclude, Amal has made me grow both as a professional and a person. All of these insightful learnings would always remain in my heart, and I will stop at nothing to learn everything I can to better myself, because that’s the spirit Amal has imbued in us.
