How To Deal With a Stubborn Person

This is too hard.

A stubborn person is afraid or ashamed to change their mind. That’s why logical arguments don’t work with them.

As much as you can explain that their ideas are wrong and that they should do otherwise, they will not understand that they are wrong because they want to protect their ego first of all. They are not interested in the logic of their ideas or actions. They only care about their safety and their pride.

Even if they understand that they are wrong, they will pretend they cannot understand their mistakes because they don’t want to expose themselves and don’t want to change their attitude.

A stubborn person insists on doing everything the way they prefer because that’s the only way they feel safe. They are afraid to act otherwise and don’t want to admit that they are acting absurdly.

Sometimes only through long psychotherapy they can change their mind, but with great difficulty.

Their stubbornness is the only way they find to protect their ego and always be in a superior position. Therefore, it is no use trying to make them understand that they are being absurd and that they are even doing things that are negative for them.

If you depend on the cooperation of a stubborn person, you better look for another solution. Otherwise, you will waste time and energy trying to convince them to change their mind for nothing.

If the stubborn person is someone you love and care about, you must be very patient and gradually show them that they won’t take any risks if they change their attitude, which will be very difficult, but not impossible.

If you are extremely patient and kind with them, you will be able to make them understand that it will be better for them if they act in another way, but that will only happen after a long time.

So, be prepared to face their stubbornness for a long period of time until you can show them that if they change their attitude everything will be more favorable for them.
