What Avatar Has Taught Me About the Stupidity of Human Greed

Avatar 2 just came out in the theatre and the show was amazing. I loved how the movie showcase more on the culture of the Na’vi people.

The show had many deep provoking thoughts about what we humans are doing to our environment and how when we view our species from another, we look like a parasitic enemy.

It showed how humans even after 100s of years, are still overly fed by greed, and that we have destroyed our Earth as a result.

It's hard to take into the perspective of other people, especially when we humans created a hierarchy of power for ourselves. Breaking people up from rich to poor.

We become greedy and want more from each other. The poor desperately try to be rich while the rich try to live an easy maybe happy lifestyle like the poor. You see, they are never happy.

This issue of colonization has been brought to other worlds have led to a series of ridiculous problems.

The most RIDICULOUS problem I see during the show was the need to extract the brain liquid from the whale-like animal called Tulkun.

Even after having one of the biggest breakthroughs of having the ability to transfer a person's mind into another body, the rich people on Earth would rather have an immortality body to live with. WHAT!

In the process of immortality, we destroy other planets in order to make $100 million on that jar of liquid which we should be able to replicate with ‘lab-grown’ technology. We already have that technology now where we use ‘lab-grown’ technology to make our food.

My only guess on this issue is that the rich want everything for themselves, which is the whole point of the title. Greed.

Greed isn’t always a necessary or admirable quality. It can cause people to behave selfishly or destructively and is frequently linked to a desire for money, power, or material goods.

Greed is frequently seen as a bad quality that may be harmful to both people and society as a whole. In order to have a happy, healthy life and prevent harming others, it’s critical to recognize and manage greed.

If the key takeaway from this movie is summarized, I would use the quote famously said by Mother Teresa:
