The Holy Grail

Truth

There is a place we both have been
That joins us together
We often try the real world
And end up in stormy weather.

We’ve walked along the avenue
And now we’re hand in glove
Down the avenue of broken hearts
We’re practically in love.

We seek exoneration
From burdens far too heavy
We stand side by side
Our hands support the levee.

We fear the flow will happen
If we open the flood gates
And release emotions
Our passions and intimates.

We linger beside the river
And lie in the deep grass
My hand traces your body
Our tomorrows are like glass.

Our lips brush past our faces
The love’s the understanding
The unseen scars upon our souls
Our self-inflicted branding.

We joined in a whisper
Our union is so frail
We both embrace the truth
And seek the Holy Grail
